17/10/2005 - Orphan drug troxacitabine approved for AML in EU

On September 27, 2005, the European Commission approved orphan drug status for troxacitabine for the treatment of acute myeloid leukemia. Troxacitabine, manifactured by SGX Pharmaceuticals under the brand name of Troxatyl, had already been granted orphan drug status for the same purpose by the U.S. Food and Drug Administration in April 2005.
